Ubuntu Technologies was formed in the late nineties to address the severe shortage of truly empowered companies operating in the South African technology space.
Over the decade that followed, the company grew from a small technology consultancy focused on supplying hardware to the provincial and local government of the Free State, to a powerful group of companies with competencies that span networking, communications, client, server, storage and audio visual environments with a national footprint.
From dealing with a single public sector entity, the company has furthermore grown its client base to encompass public sector departments, private sector companies of all sizes and numerous State Owned Enterprises.
2005 saw the formation of the Ubuntu Group, a formation which enabled the company to provide concentrated expertise to many of its clients, expertise which allowed for a focused service delivery on distinct parts of the technology ecosystem.
